CCW - Amended Protocol II Group of Experts - Statement of France [fr]
As the coordinator of the Group of experts on Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), the colonel Nicolas Coussière, Defense attaché and military advisor to the Permanent Representative of France to the Conference on Disarmament, led the debates of the Group of Experts in the framework of the modified Protocol II of the Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects (CCW), in Geneva, on the 7th and 8th of April, 2015.
The discussions enabled to talk about the classical themes of these reunions, but also to touch new issues, as the proper measures to avoid explosive diversion for the manufacturing of IED, or detection techniques or counter-measures. Finally, with the perspective of the Review Conference of the CCW in December, 2016, delegations have been invited to express their views on the lead to adopt for the future works of the Group of experts.
