The United Kingdom organised the ninth P5 Conference, held in London on 12-13 February 2020. The other four Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) nuclear weapon states were invited. David Bertolotti, Director for strategic affairs and security from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, along with Ambassador Yann Hwang, Permanent Representative of France to the Conference on Disarmament, represented France. This meeting was held to discuss the preparations for the 2020 NPT Review Conference which will took place in New York from April 27th to May 22nd. This treaty, which entered into force 50 years ago, remains a key instrument of the non-proliferation regime and contributes to collective security.
