CCW - LAWS- GGE (Geneva, 27- 31 August 2018) [fr]

The Group of Governmental Experts (GGE) will gather from the 27th to the 31st August 2018 to work on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS) in the frame of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW).

- Speech of M. Louis Riquet, Deputy Permanent Representative to the Permanent Representation of France to the Conference of Disarmament in Geneva for CCWC GGE LAWS on “characterization of the systems consideration in order to promote a common understanding on concepts and characteristics relevant to the objectives and purposes of the Convention”.
The speech discloses the French position as regards SALA’s characterization including a substantial contribution in the building of a consensual definition of LAWS by identifying systems which are not LAWS. (Geneva, 27 August 2018)
